What is a center dimension?

What is a Center Dimension (CC) and Why is it Important?

When selecting handles for your furniture, the Center Dimension (CC) is an essential concept to understand. The Center Dimension helps ensure that your new handles fit perfectly into the existing holes or that any new holes are placed correctly. Here, we explain what the Center Dimension is, how to measure it, and why it’s important.

What is a Center Dimension (CC)?

The Center Dimension (CC) represents the center-to-center measurement and specifies the distance between the center points of the two screw holes on a handle. This measurement is taken in millimeters and ensures that the screw holes on the handle align perfectly with the holes on the surface of your furniture.

Example: This handle has a Center Dimension of 96 mm. This means there are 96 mm between the center points of the two screw holes on the handle. We offer handles with the following Center Dimensions: 96, 128, 160, 192, 224, 256, 320, 352, 416 mm.

When replacing or installing new handles on furniture such as cabinets, drawers, or kitchen doors, it is important that the Center Dimension of the new handles matches the existing holes on the furniture. If the measurement does not match, new holes will need to be drilled, which can be challenging and potentially damage the surface of the furniture.

How to Use Center Dimension (CC) When Replacing Handles

Measure the Center Dimension (CC) of your existing handle to determine the size you need for the new handle.
Check the product description to ensure that the new handle has the same Center Dimension as the old one.
Install the new handle by placing it over the existing holes and fastening it with screws. If the Center Dimension matches, the screws should fit perfectly without any need for adjustments.
